MANILA - A total of P48,000 worth of goods was purchased by a cashier using his customer's credit card at a mall in Taguig.
The owner alias April last used her credit card on June 15 to buy light at a store in a mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
But June 19, when he noticed that her credit card was missing.
She tried to find it, but failed, so after two days, April went to the bank and the police.
But before blocking the credit card, it was used by the cashier's store.
Merilyn Joy Gomez, 22, was identified as the suspect.
Within three days, the suspect spent P48,000 on shopping at various malls.
But Gomez's defense, she did not even use the credit card, but her security guard and her partner.
The suspect was facing a violation of the Access Devices Regulation Act, while police were seeking his accomplices.
Police reminders to owners and storefronts, check carefully the cardholders in each transaction to make sure they are really credit cards.
